Welcome to James Bay Dental

James Bay Dental, formerly Radius Dental, is located in the heart of James Bay in Victoria.

We have enjoyed providing dental care for the neighbourhood over the past 15 years and we look forward to working to to support our community's oral health. We also welcome clients from Beacon Hill and Fairfield.

Our dentists provide dental services for patients of all ages, emergency patients, and new patients to our community and visiting travellers.

Dr Nathalie Butler

General Dentist

Dr. Nathalie Butler grew up in Victoria, BC. She later moved to Kingston, ON where she received her Bachelor (2014) and Master of Science (2016) degrees in biochemistry from Queen's University. Following this, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with distinction at the University of Western Ontario (2021).

After graduation, Dr. Butler served as a Dental Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and provided dental care to active military members in Victoria, Vancouver, and North Bay. Upon concluding her career with the Armed Forces, she decided to return to her hometown and be reunited with her family and loved ones.

Dr. Butler is passionate about providing high quality comprehensive dental care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. With a focus on patient education, she takes the time to thoroughly explain treatment options and ensures patients fully understand their dental needs and feel confident in their decisions. Dr. Butler strives to make every visit a positive experience.

Outside of the office, Dr. Butler is an avid long-distance runner and is likely to be found pounding the pavement and training for her next race. She and her partner share a love for outdoor adventures and travelling. She considers herself something of a foodie and is always looking for restaurant recommendations or recipe ideas.
Dr James McGaw

General Dentist

Dr. John McGaw has been providing general dentistry to the Courtenay and Comox Valley community since he graduated from the University of Alberta - Faculty of Dentistry in 1992. He's been practicing sedation dentistry since 1994 and in 1997 he received certification from the University of Toronto to provide multiple drug IV sedation. Dr. McGaw is also an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor and Clinical Instructor in IV Sedation at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and for the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Dentistry – Dental Ed Sedation Program. He's also certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and throughout university, Dr. McGaw practiced as a Level III Registered Emergency Paramedic for the City of Edmonton (NAIT 1980). Utilizing dental technology, Dr. McGaw strives to identify and treat problems with minimal invasion and maximum comfo
Dr Neha Singla

General Dentist

Dr. Neha Singla graduated from Baba Farid University in Punjab, India in 2010. In 2014, she completed her Masters in Oral Medicine and Radiology as a gold medalist from Nair Hospital, Mumbai, India. After several years of dentistry in India, she moved to Canada in 2020 and began practicing in Edmonton, Alberta. With such severe and cold winters, her heart was set on moving to the West Coast and we are now thrilled to have her working with us here at James Bay Dental. "I am very excited to practice at James Bay Dental. With my passion for dentistry, I pride myself in striving to make patients comfortable and as relaxed as possible in the dental chair." Fluent in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu, Dr. Singla is committed to continual education and lifelong learning to provide best care to her patients. In her spare time, she enjoys being creative with arts and crafts and painting.
